On a number line?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i'll handle the number line, but i just need to solve the solution set
OpenStudy (anonymous):
this one caught me off guard
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok so you want to isolate the x, and so you'd want to solve it like any other algebraic equation. First you'd need to add three to all three portions and then divide by two on all three portions to just get x :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hmm..not getting it

-7 < (or equal to) x - 3< (or equal to) 11+2?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So first you'd want to add three to all three
-4 < 2x < 14
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Did that make sense? :D
OpenStudy (anonymous):
OHHHH
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then i divide both sides by two

so the answer is.... 14 <(or equal to) x < (or equal to) -7/2?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
7* (not 14)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ahh, forget i even wrote that, completely messed it up while looking at another problem.. i got it thank you! :)

Ah sorry for the late response, I was having dinner :P But glad you got it! :]
