OpenStudy (adunb8):

anyone know differences between nxn matrix and nxm?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n X n means same values matrices, we call them Square Matrix...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nXn is a square matrix but nXm is not a square matrix. both row and coloums are equal in nXn but not in case of nXm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Square matrices are like 2 X 2, 3 X 3, 4 X 4 etc etc..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n*n is matrix of same order having same no. of columns and same no. of rows example 2*2 having 2 columns and 2 rows n*m is matrix of difeerent order having n rows and m columns example 2*3 having 2 rows and 3 columns

OpenStudy (adunb8):

oh i see haha thanks~ oh also they keep talking about aij and bij what is ij?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n X m are matrices like 2 X 3 having 2 rows and 3 columns... They are not the \(\frak{Square \; \; Matrices}\)...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i and j are rows and columns.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(i\) stands for Rows and \(j\) stands for Columns... \(\large a _{ij}\) represents the ith row and jth column in the Matrix...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a and b are two matrix and i and j are its rows and columns

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically, \(\large a_{ij}\) represents the particular element in a given matrix..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please give the correct answer @gsRttN

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i and j are the rows and columns of one matrix only and not two different matrices...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why not two matrix have same rows and columns @waterineyes

OpenStudy (adunb8):

so i and j are just examples saying all i are some rows and j are some rows ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I give you the example for more understanding..

OpenStudy (adunb8):

ok
