OpenStudy (anonymous):

-73/7 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how did you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-10 * 7 + 3 7 still being the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still lost im sooo slow lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need step by step please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[10\frac{3}{7}\] The 10 is a whole number and the 3/7 is a fraction of a number. For every whole 1, there is a 7/7. If you divide 7/7,you get 1. If you divide 14 by 7 \[\frac{14}{7}=\frac{7*2}{7}=2\] you get 2. To work backwards from a whole number to a fraction, you take the denominator (the bottom number of a fraction) and multiply it by the whole number. 10 * 7 = 70 to check your work, \[\frac{70}{7}=\frac{7*10}{7}=10\] Now that you have the 10, you need to account for the 3/7. Since 10 is 70/7, and you have another 3/7, you simply have to add the two. \[\frac{70}{7}+\frac{3}{7}=\frac{70+3}{7}=\frac{73}{7}\]
