Stuck on this inequality: 3x + 5 < 2x - 8 I am having a hard time with these multi-step inequalities, so an explanation on how you got the answer would be really helpful!

3x+5<2x-8 First, move the numbers to one side. In this case, subtract 5 from both sides. 3x>2x-13 Then, move the variables to the other side. In this case, subtract 2x from both sides. x>-13

Real quick, why do you switch the direction of the < ? Like, under what circumstances do you switch the direction it is pointing?

Oh, I'm sorry. The first one is x<-13. You just switch the < if you are multiplying or dividing by a negative.
