My book says nicotine makes red blood cells more 'sticky' (leading to high thrombosis, stroke or heat attack risk). What does this mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means that nicotine makes the RBCs stick to each other forming clumps or small balls or clots. When these clots get struck in the fine arteries supplying blood to either heart or brain, it results in heart attack or brain stroke......hope this makes it clearer...☺
