Graph 3x+4y=-12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x+-12=4y divide all others by four to get y=3/4+-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean 3/4x+-3

something like that

I hope this helps you understand HOW it works.

Change into Slope-Intercept form. Then graph. Slope-intercept form: y = mx + b m is slope b is y-intercept (where the line crosses the y-axis) 3x+4y=-12 Subtract 3x from both sides. 4y = -3x - 12 Divide both sides by 4. y = -3/4x - 3 So you have a slope of -3/4 and a y-intercept of -3. To graph you need to have that^ FIRST, plot the y-intercept(-3) which would be point (-3,0) NOW remember that: Slope=riserun=−34 So from point (-3, 0), you RISE first...its a -3 so you go down 3 spaces. Next go 4 spaces to the right (RUN). Plot the point. Connect the two points. And theres your graph. (:
