tan(7PI)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you see that is is just cos (360*4). And it is a circle so we can ignore the 4 and we want cos 360 or cos 0, same thing. Google the unit circle so you can see it, but cos is the x-value and the answer is 1

thanks

tan(7pi)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
tan of 7pi is the same thing as tan pi. we can ignore the rotations around the circle

tan is sin/cos, sin pi is 0 cos pi is -1, 0/-1 is 0
OpenStudy (anonymous):
double thanks
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Again I want you to look up the unit circle
OpenStudy (anonymous):
If you memorize it your life will be easier

i did but it just my teacher gave us hard homework

sin(9pi/2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Your going to have to do this one yourself. first step is to simplify it.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what is 9/2 as decimal?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
4.5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so it is 4.5pi, and what do you know about one full rotation in radians?

?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
360 degrees is equal to 2pi
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh
OpenStudy (anonymous):
answer is 1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so we can ignore 4pi of the 4.5pi and we just have pi/2. This is because we are just running around the circle back to the same spot so it doesnt matter

Unit circle FTW.

I can't keep doing your hw for you. It always helps me to convert to decimal because I hate fractions, and attack the problem like we did just before this one. Good luck
