OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you solve (x3 + 6x2 + 3x + 1 ) ÷ (x - 2) I already finished making this bad but please help me

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there are 2 main methods, syhtD and longHand which one do you like the best?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x^3+6x^2+3x+1)/(x-2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

synthD ... synthetic division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

division

OpenStudy (amistre64):

which division method? synthetic or longhand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

longhand

Parth (parthkohli):

@amistre64 I think you have forgotten one more method.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

------------------- x-2 ) x^3+6x^2+3x+1 focus only on the first terms; what is x^3/x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but wrong

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x^3/x is not "but wrong" try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide the following polynomial using synthetic division, then place the answer in the proper location on the grid. Write answer in descending powers of x. (x3 + 6x2 + 3x + 1 ) ÷ (x - 2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so, you want to do this using synthetic instead .....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

first thing to check is that all the powers are present and accounted for 3 2 1 0 x3 + 6x2 + 3x + 1 good, they are all there next we need to determine what zeros out the divider x-2 = 0 when x = ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I put this but wrong x^2+

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i think you might be having an issue between what you are inserting and how the program wants it to be inserted. But i we cant really help you out with that since we have no idea what the program you are using actually wants for a proper syntax

OpenStudy (amistre64):

itmight help to know if youve got the right results first and then see if its an inputting error
