factor a(x + 2) + 3(x + 2)

Parth (parthkohli):

It's mostly like your grouping questions. Assume \(\rm x + 2 = n\). You have,\[\rm an + 3n\]How would you combine like terms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take x+2 as common you will get (x+2)(a+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assume \[(x+2)\] is another way of saying \[b\]. Then, \[ab + 3b\]. So. just factor the \[b\] out to get: \[b(a+3)\]. Substitute the (x+2) back in: \[(x+2)(a+3)\]
