how amino acid side chains would interact with membrane???? HELP ME :(

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

clue: hydrophobicity

OpenStudy (ammarah):

dont you have a science textbook?? Look through it...and u will find the answer....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as we know cell membrane is bilpid layer which dont allow hydrophilic compound to move along so it use channel protein

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Heena is correct in stating that the cell membrane is hydrophobic (which keeps the cell cytoplasm in and keeps a potential across the membrane but that's another story). Only hydrophobic side chains will sit in the membrane in what's known as a transmembrane protein. Charged side chains wouldn't sit in the membrane, neither would polar side chains.

OpenStudy (ammarah):

help me ^^

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

some membranes are not bilipid layers.
