how do you do it on a calculator?

We do it on a graphing calculator. The first step is to type in the equation, then graph it. From there you can press 2nd trace and there will be a few choices. Pick max or min. Then press enter twice, then it will tell you to guess. Move the cursor over to where you think the max or min is then press enter. It should give you the exact point.
