What were the arguments against desegregation by the Board side in Brown v. Board?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There were a number of arguments over desegregation such as the previous ruling by the Supreme Court with Plessy vs. Ferguson to whether or not the Court had the Constitutional power to order an end to segregation when Congress hadn't passed any laws overturning it. There were also considerations made over whether the decision against segregation would trample state's rights, but all of these were weak arguments versus the very real racial issues defining segregation as an abhorrent prosecution of the idea of "separate but equal."
