Simplify √18*√32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply and you get perfect square √576 which is 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay when multiplying radicals, simply multiply the stuff under the radical and put the answer under a big one so \[\sqrt{18*32}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be 24?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you factor 18 and 32, you get 2*3*3*4*4*2 and you can see that you get nice pairs of multiples 2,3 and 4 so now you know the answer is 2*3*4 or 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not √24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no just 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you
