Please solve each of the inequalities below and graph the solution on a number line. It will be beneficial to you to show work on all problems so your instructor may provide specific feedback. However, to receive full credit for this assignment, you must show work for #4 and 5. You may either use a paint program, power point, or any program you choose to create the number line graphs, draw the graphs by hand and scan, or describe the graph in words. For example, x > 3 would be “x is greater than 3. The graph would have an open circle on 3 with shading to the right.” #1-5 1. x
#1-5 (1 point each) 1. x – 3 > –9 2. –2x + 1 ≤ –11 3. 10 < –3x + 1 4. 2(x + 5) > 8x – 8 5. –2(x – 3) ≥ 5 – (x + 3)
6. Explain, in complete sentences, when you would use an open circle or a closed circle, and when you would shade to the right or left, to graph an inequality on the number line. 7. Describe a real life scenario where inequalities are used and state the inequality.
:)
1.x>-6 2.xless than or equal too 6 3.-3>x 4.3>x 5.4 greater than or equal to x
6.You would use an open circle when the curve does not actually hit that point in the graph (in terms of inequality, when the variable is larger (or smaller) than the value, but not equal to it). You would use a closed circle when the curve does actually hit the point on the graph. You shade to the left when x is larger than given value (example: x > 3). You shade to the right when x is smaller than the given value (example: x < 6).
7.A real life scenario: There are over 9000 purchases made a week. (x > 9000)
wait i know that part... all i need is # 6 for each 1 to 5
question 6 is for 1 2 3 4 and 5
i posted question 6. lol
by it self... 6 is for 1to5
never mind ... i feel stupid
thanx lol ;)
me too.. im not sure what your saying.. did i answer or no? lol
yup
okay haha
love ur name btw ;)
