OpenStudy (calculusfunctions):

Slope of a line measures the steepness of a line (how steep a line is). Slope is a ratio (comparison) of the amount of units the line rises to the amount of units it runs. ⋅ If the line rises from left to right, then we say that the line has a positive slope. ⋅ If the line falls from left to right, then the line has negative slope. ⋅ If the line does not rise, but remains flat (horizontal line), then the line has zero slope. ⋅ If the line just rises and is 90° to the horizontal, such as a vertical line, then the slope of the line is undefined. The slope of any line can be calculated using the slope formula:\[m =\frac{ y _{2}-y _{1}}{ x _{2}-x _{1} }\]where\[(x _{1}, y _{1}) and (x _{2}, y _{2})\]are points on the line. If the slope of a line is between -1 and 1, then we say that we have a gentle slope. If the slope of a line is equal to -1 or 1, then we have a moderate slope. If the slope of a line is less than -1 or greater than 1, then we have a steep slope. If two lines are parallel, then their slopes are exactly the same. If two lines are perpendicular (at 90° to each other), then their slopes are negative reciprocals or the product of their slopes is -1 (except when the lines are horizontal and vertical, in which case the product of their slopes is not -1).

@mikala1 are you there? Do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (calculusfunctions):

@mikala1 thank you for responding promptly! Other people never respond, and I always have to wait for them. They waste whatever little free time I have. Therefore I appreciate you responding right away. Is that all then, because I have to sign out now. I could have helped more people, if certain other people didn't waste my time by making me wait for them to answer me.

ok thank you so much i will have a question 2 marrow then thank you

OK BYE!!
