First you need to find common denominators.

@xclaireykinzx do you know what the common denominator is? What I normally do is multiply both denominators and use that number.

16 * 5 = 80 right? @xclaireykinzx

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Multiply the first fraction by 5 Multiply the second fraction by 16

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

70/80 + 16/80 = 86/80

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Reduces to 43/40
