Remember that in absolute value problems, there are two cases. In this case, the absolute value is already isolated (first step). From there, set up your cases and solve. The cases here were given by johnsonshelby above, but I prefer a slightly different form. I would show the cases as\[-5<x+3<5\]combined into a single compound inequality (this works in most cases if the inequality is "absolute value less than." You can solve it from there.
