Let f(x)=x^2tan^−1(3x) When i did this problem i got 3x^2/1+9x^2 the correct answer is 2xtan^-1(3x)+3x^2/1+9x^2

What is the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok were doing inverse trig functions find the f(x)' f(x)=\[x^2\tan^(-1)(3x)\]

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

you should use the product rule for differentiation. the two factors are x^2 and tan^-1(3x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i'll try that thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much it worked

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

yw. =)
