Can you explain to me how to do this step by step: Write the inequality in slope-intercept form: 9x + 3y is equal or greater than -12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope intercept just means that it is in the form of the following y = mx + b where m is your slope and the b is the y intercept right now it is in standard form, in your problem the x and y are on the left side, but in order to make it slope intercept you have to move the x to the right side and have the y and x on opposite sides of the equal sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, in order to change your inequality from standard form to slope intercept form, you must move that x from the left side to the right side of the inequality, do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so i have to subtract x from both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well not just "x" but you need to subtract "9x" from both sides yes... that is step one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so then it is 3y is is equal or greater than -12 - 9x
