Graph the equation Y= -3x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take x to be -7 to 7 and work out the equation for example: let's take x =2 y = -3*2+2 y = -4

I am looking at your excel sheet. Is that how the graph should look with this particular problem? Cause I am really confused with how my graph turned out

well if you are talking about the scales, this is arbitrary, you can choose any scales you want, but if you are talking about the slope and the position, yes this is how it should look!

2 is the y-intercept...the line crosses 2 on the y-axis, the slope is -3....on which program are you doing your chart? excel?
