For future reference, this is a history question. I'm not sure about the answer, but I know that Romans wouldn't be threatened by other people believing in eternal life. Romans were like, "Believe whatever you want, as long as you stay away from us and pay your freaking taxes." Your answer is definitely NOT a. Might be D, because as Christianity spread, it started to be looked down upon by Romans, especially Nero.

Definitely the last option, that they refused to worship Roman gods, including paying homage to the emperor. There were other reasons as well that made Christianity something to be persecuted. Rome actually has a history of religious tolerance, such as that shown towards the Jews (at least for a time), but Christians were also regarded as a threat to social stability making them convenient targets for persecution by many sides.
