Use the following problem to answer the question below: Given: m∠ABE = m∠CBD Prove: m∠ABD = m∠CBE http://puu.sh/1oNEP (<- click link for image) What is the reason for B? A. Substitution Property B. Angle Addition Postulate C. Addition Property of Equaltiy D. Given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because angle addition postulate is just what it says...lol! It is the addition of two angles together. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You r welcome, anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm.. Do you know what the reason for D would be? (Same answer options)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, hold a sec, I will check it out. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ty :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because, as you put earlier, you are trying to prove the given, this proof is probably going backwards, because normally the given is at the top. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it understandable?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm.. Not really :\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When they put the given, you put that at the top, because that is what they reveal to you. So then you have to prove the thing that says, Prove. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh no, I'm not sure how to explain this without it being confusing LOL, when I asked "What is the reason for B?" I meant B in the picture, not B in the answer options :P Same with D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, lol! it is Angle addition Postulate for b. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so D would just be Given? o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry about that, have to check d. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you put some terms for that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It'll come to me, once I hear some terms. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean by terms? (Sorry, this is my son's homework so I have absolutely no idea, so rusty on my maths :P )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm...well, like angle Addition Postulate, stuff like that, I don't remember all the postulates, but I will if you can ask your son the terms, any notes he has, it would be a term for equal angles, that's all I remeberr. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. Given B. Angle Addition Property of Equality C. Substition Property D. Subtraction Property of Equality Does that help at all? Those were the answer choices for D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, let me see. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be C, because if you switch them around, you can still set them equal to each other, because they are exactly the same,. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much :D I appreciate your help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You r welcome! Anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what the reason for A & C would be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL, any answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is obviously Given, lol! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For A: A. Angle Addition Postulate B. Subtraction Property of Equality C. Substitution Property D. Given For C: A. Substitution Property B. Subtraction Property of Equality C. Given D. Angle Addition Postulate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C, lol, would most likely b B. Because you can if you were to subtract both answers, you will get the same answer. :) So they would be equal. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you very much:) That was the last question :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL! You r welcome! :) Good luck! Your son will get used to proofs after a while. :)
