Use the definition of the derivative to compute: d/dx x/(x+1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(\frac{ x+h }{ x+h+1 }-\frac{x}{x+h})*1/h\] I've plugged it into the equation, but can't seem to get anywhere with the algebra part

hartnn (hartnn):

because its x+1 in 2nd term

hartnn (hartnn):

the algebra part is very easy (x+h)(x+1) - x(x+h+1) simply turns out to be h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh wow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was actually it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think I need to figure out a way to focus better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks @hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):
