Use the Pythagorean theorem to find x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24^2+10^2=x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then use the law of sines to find one of the missing angles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@coolaidd did u get that?????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't use to use the law of sines...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a right angled triangle. Just use SOH CAH TOA.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@coolaidd lets go step by step first we have to find the value of x do u know Pythagorean theorem?????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know the pythagorean theorem right? C^2=A^2+B^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We know two sides, so we can easily find the third side. C is the Hypotenuse of the triangle which we are attempting to find.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Dido525 i know u can solve it but wait for her plz:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not solving it!! ahaha :P .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just telling her the formulas :) .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dido is awesome!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@coolaidd can u tell about Pythagoras theorem??????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is A and B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) x^2 = 10^2 + 24^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=26cm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2 = 10^2 + 24^2=26

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok @coolaidd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) x = 26 2) m<B = tan(10/24) = tan(5/12) 3) m<A = tan(24/10) = tan(12/5)

I hope this picture helps you see what the pothagorian therom is doing. |dw:1352884449352:dw|
