from this page http://www.dispatch.com/content/blogs/science-environment/2012/04/water-report.html "Lake Erie's water could drop almost 1.5 feet due to greater evaporation during the summer and reduced ice cover in the winter. This would damage commercial shipping by reducing the total tonnage cargo ships could safely carry to ports."

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

from this page http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/07/scientists_group_claims_big_cl.html "Ohio is heading for a future with more heat waves, more flooding, reduced crop yields and a diminishing Lake Erie to its north if the United States does not significantly curb heat-trapping emissions, the Union of Concerned Scientists claimed this morning in a news release"

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sure thing

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sure go ahead and show me what you got so far

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

some of this is off of those websites I showed you, so I would either rephrase them in your own words or quote them (remember to cite as well)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the problems are basically this a) flooding *** b) droughts *** c) heat waves (temperatures are getting higher and higher each year) d) wildlife and biodiversity is affected since the environment is changing *** a) and b) sound contradictory, but climate change or global warming is shifting water patterns basically and taking water from those that need it (eg farmers) and water is now going to places where it shouldn't (causing flooding) ***

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so if you live in areas where droughts and floods happen, then your life is affected

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

also, heat waves affect pretty much everyone

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and we all rely on nature, so we rely on biodiversity

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well the true cause is up for debate, but on one side people will say it's mostly caused by humans while the other side will say it's a natural cycle of the earth

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it's hard to say which one is truly correct (maybe a mix of both?) but I think humans are responsible for a lot (since the patterns started changing after the industrial revolution)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hmm weatherunderground is a good website i think

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

http://www.wunderground.com/ they might have all the info for your state

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
