Part 1)\[m = \frac{ y2 - y1 }{ x2 - x1 }\]\[m = \frac{ 7 - 3 }{ 8 - 6 } =\frac{ 4 }{ 2 } = 2\]Slope = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part 2) You have a point (6, 3) and you have the slope (2). Point-Slope formula: y - y1 = m(x - x1) y - 3 = 2(x - 6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Change from Point-Slope to Slope-intercept. y = mx + b Remember m is slope and b is y-intercept. y - 3 = 2(x - 6) y = 2x - 9 Part 3) Parallel lines have the same slope but different y-intercepts. So you keep the y = 2x part and add whatever number you want.

Part 4) Perpendicular lines' slope is the opposite reciprocal. So instead of 2, you're slope would be -1/2. This time the equation would be y = -1/2x

Hope this helped! (:
