if i have -2sin3xsinx/2sin3x , would i be able to cancel out the 2sin3x to get -sinx even though the one in the numerator has a negative in from of it?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yes, as long as the angle (the inside part) is the same :O

zepdrix (zepdrix):

And they both have a 3x, the same, yay.. sooooo -sinx? :D yah sounds right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same thing/same thing =1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so basically it is like.. -(2sin3xsinx)/ 2sin3xsinx ??

zepdrix (zepdrix):

yes, you can think of the negative as a -1 being multiplied by any term in the top, you can move it around, factor it out.. do whatever you want with it :O -sin3x=-1*sin3x Wait wait.. how did a sinx just appear in your denominator? :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the 2sin3x's cancel out then we are left with -sinx
