Here is how to do this problem. You have to get y by itself. So first, move the 4x to the other side. By moving it the other side it becomes negative, since you are subtracting 4x from both sides. -3y = -4x + 12 Now all you have to do is divide both sides by -3 to get y by itself. y= 4/3x - 4
