Are you using slope-intercept form for your line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its suppose to be y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you start with slope-intercept, you have an equation of the form y = mx + b where the two elements we have to provide are the slope "m" and the y-intercept, "b" the intercept for "y" is where you have a "0" value for "x", so the intercept is "3" for "b". You went down 3 for the slope instead of up 3, and you went to the right 6, so you have -3/6 or -1/2 for the slope. Makes your equation y = (-1/2)x + 3

thank you =)

The going down for negative slope (or up for positive slope) and to the right is from the intercept point. And you are welcome!
