FRACTION WORD PROBLEM: Cynthia has 1 1/2 containers of juice. Each smaller container holds 2/5 as much as a large container. How many small containers can she fill?

i think thts right but i have problems with stuff like this so idk if ur really right o_o sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its fine, if someone else got the same answer I'm pretty sure it must be right..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, don't you have to convert both fractions to an equal denominator to be able to see how many 2/5 could go into 1 1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure thats only for addition and subtraction of fractions,, when you divide you just multiply the inverse of the second fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOOOOH, my bad it would be 3 small containers and 3/4 of another small one... right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, you're correct. My bad :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's actually 3 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha, fraction word problems ALWAYS mess me up O.o
