Add 3 to each side. Subtract 3 from each side. Divide each side by 7. Multiply each side by 7. i think its the first one..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no

OpenStudy (aripotta):

he opposite of division is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Emma, the first step is add three from each side

OpenStudy (aripotta):

the*

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no it's not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, it's division

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no, it's multiplication.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure i think its add three to each side..

OpenStudy (aripotta):

multiply each side by 7.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

it's d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aripotta is right you would multiple each side by 7 first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okt thanks people!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because when you have a math problem in the division problem you put parenthesis on the top part. Since you are following SADMEP, opposite of PEMDAS, so it would be multiplication.

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that explain it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.. i have another question Write an inequality to represent the problem (1 pt.) and then solve the inequality by writing the pairs which solve it (1 pt.). Find all sets of two consecutive positive odd integers whose sum is less than or equal to 18. could someone give me an example of an inequality i promise not to use that one for school

OpenStudy (anonymous):

p = positive odd integers p \[p \le 18\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hu im really confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wrote an inequality. I used p as my variable and did p less than or equal to 18
