Yes, if you change the slope, you will have to change at least one-intercept.

However, you can change the intercepts without changing the slope.

ex: y = x + 3 has intercepts (0,3) and (-3 , 0)
y = x - 3 has intercepts (0 , -3) and (3 , 0)
both intercepts are different, but the slope is still 1
