Cn some one help me please and thank you ou must create a lesson that teaches another student how to solve the following inequality: –x + 3 > 7. Your main mission for this activity is to provide a detailed answer to the question below. Why must you flip the inequality symbol when you divide by a negative number? You know that if the symbol is not flipped you will end up with a false statement, but why is that so?

@skullpatrol could yuo help by any chance

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

I would begin with the given inequality: –x + 3 > 7 –x + 3 + (-3) > 7 +(-3) -x > 4 Ok so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes ok so far

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still here sorry my computer stoped working

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So skull why do you have to flip the number is what i do not know

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

We were just taught to memorize the rule. But if you set up a table of values I'm sure you can derive it.

ok thank you

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
