I narrowed it down to C and D

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So if we distribute the sqrt(5) to each term in the brackets, it gives us\[\large 10\sqrt5 - 4\sqrt2 \cdot \sqrt5\] From here, we can combine the square roots on the right.\[\large 10\sqrt5-4\sqrt{2\cdot5} \quad = \quad 10\sqrt5-4\sqrt{10}\] Understand those steps ok? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmmm so you narrowed it down to C or D? That sounds good.. I guess we just have to ask ourselves whether or not this is equivalent to C. And looking at it, I don't think we can do anything to the first term to make them look the same, they're clearly different :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha thanks. so my instinct of d is correct

zepdrix (zepdrix):

hehe yah :3
