If the system of equations given below is solved using the substitution method, what is the equation that results from solving the second equation for y, and substituting into the first equation? 3x - 2y = 7 x - y = 5

Solve the second equation for y. This means leaving y=all other stuff. Next replace that value of y into the y on the first equation. So the first equation will be: 3x-2(HEre you write the value of y)=7 That's it, then just multiply everything out and you'll get the value of x.
