1/2-5/8x=7/8x+7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same technique as the previous problem you posted.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not good at fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did 1/2-2/8x=7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, be careful with signs. When you move the 7/8x from one side to the other you have to subtract it from both sides, so on the left side you end up with -5/8x - 7/8x, or -12/8x. Then subtract the 1/2 from both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Next, multiply both sides by -1 so your x is positive, simplify the 12/8, and you'll find you have a common denominator on both sides that you can get rid of. The rest should be obvious and easy!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then its 12/8x=6/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then i think u multiply

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly...multiply both sides by 2 once you have the common denominator. Nice job!
