Please, I really need help!

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Because the two sides are congruent, the two angles at the bottom (not x) measure the same, that is 47 deg.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now look at outer triangle. The two angles at the bottom measure 47 degrees each. The angle on top measure 180 - 47 - 47 = 86 degrees. Tht at is the upper angle of the large triangle. Since both of the small angles on top measure the same, they measure 86/2 = 43 = y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So Y is 43 but what is x? @mathstudent55

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Since the small angles at the top are congruent (43 and 43 degrees). that means that the line coming down the middle to the bottom is perpendicular to the bottom side. When perpendicular lines intersect, they form 90-degree angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So x is 90

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Another way of doing this is all angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees. On the left triangle you have 43 on top, 47 on left. They add up to 90. So x must also be 90 bec 90 + 90 = 180.

Yes, you're correct
