Algebraically find all the critical numbers of the function f(x)=xe^(-3x)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Were you able to find f'(x) alright? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

e^(-3x)(1-3x)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Simplified? ok cool :) Sooooo, to find critical points, we set the first derivative equal to 0 yes? Having trouble understanding what's happening with the exponential or what? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had no idea it was that simple... just find the derivative and set it equal to zero?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

After you set it equal to 0, you'll need to solve for x :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, yeah of course lol (: thank you!

zepdrix (zepdrix):

oh heh ^^ np
