why is -((m(x-a)+c)) equal to -m(x-a)-c where does the -c come from??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just multiply in the negative -[ (m(x-a) + c ] [ -(m(x-a) -c ]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why isnt the (x-a) affected?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if we just look at -m(x-a) if we multiply through we get (-mx + ma)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh u have to distribute the m too if u want to distribute the negative tyy
