What is the equation of the line in this graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a.) y = 2x – 2 b.)y = 2x + 4 c.)y = ½x – 2 d.)y = ¼x + 4

i answer for B but im not sure if Im correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can always start by looking at what y-value the graph crosses the y-axis. You are guessing the answer to be y=2x+4. The "4" is the y-intercept. Where does the line cross the y-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at 1,4

Try again :)

1,2

Not quite

confused

Do you know how to find the coordinate of a point on a graph? The first number in the parenthesis is the location of it in the x-direction, and the second number tells you the location of it in the y-direction. Whether those numbers are negative or not will tell if you left or right/ up or down ( left if negative first number, down if negative second number)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If we can find where the line crosses over the y-axis, we can determine the end part of the equation we need to find

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah...im not udnerstanding this...i just want to get it over with now -.-

The answer is C. This is due to the fact that the slope on the graph is 1/2
