HELLP!! write a polynomial function with given roots -3 and 5i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay well complex roots come in pairs so if 5i is a root, so is -5i and then we have -3... write binomials for all three like this: \[(x+3)(x-5i)(x+5i)\]and then just multiply and theres your polynomial

thanx!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about this one 3+i,2, and 4 you have to do the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats actually -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but keep in mind that 3+2i has a conjugate....so really the roots are 3+2i, 3-2i, 2, and 4:\[(x-3+2i)(x+3+2i)(x-2)(x-4)\]and just multiply

thank you sooo much!!
