How many protons, neutrons, and electrons are in Potassium, Nitrogen, and oxygen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the number of protons and electrons, simply look at the atomic number of the element. The number of neutrons is the atomic mass minus the number of protons. (Since atomic mass is defined by the number of neutrons and protons)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Potassium (K): Protons = 19, Neutrons = 20, Electrons = 19 Nitrogen (N): Protons = 7, Neutrons = 7, Electrons = 7 Oxygen (O): Protons = 8, Neutrons = 8, Electrons = 8 To find the number of protons and electrons in an element, just look up their atomic number on the periodic table. To find the number of protons, subtract the atomic number from the atomic mass.
