y=lxl-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

need to graph it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you need to use the y=lxl-7 table ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my question is, what do you need to do with \(y=|x|-7\) ? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to graph it once you solve the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the equation is solved...

OpenStudy (candyme):

|dw:1354479197227:dw|

OpenStudy (candyme):

This would be the graph of y=|x|-7. You simply move y=|x| down 7. Then you go up one, over one on each side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just graph it then :) TABLE:\[~~x~|~~y\]\[-1|-6\]\[~~0~|-7\]\[~~1~|-6\] so if you graph those points you get:|dw:1354479385483:dw| the easier way is to know that really the equation \(y=|x|-7\) is just the graph of \(y=|x|\) shifted \(7\) units down :)

thank you! this helped a lot (:
