Hello :) I need help on adding this equation :) Add 3/(2+sqrt(5)+3/(2-sqrt(5)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

That isn't simplified.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Do you know how to take LCM?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no...sorry

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

How will you solve 2/3 + 1/5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10/15 + 3/15 = 13/15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But how will that solve what you attached?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Exactly! Same way you are going to take LCM. Like you multiplied 3 and 5 to get 15. SINCE THE DENOMINATORS WERE NOT SAME. Right? The same way i multiplied both the denominators.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok...but how do I find the answer...what is the answer...

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I do that..I haven't seen that before o.O

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Umm, what can i say? Haven't your teacher showed you a similar problem like this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...well I forgot how to do it for sqrt...I know how to do it for numbers

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhhh snap... what do I do now? sorry

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Simplify:

Thx for ur help :)
