find the quadratic equations whose roots are 3 + or - √(2) and whose leading coefficient is 2

OpenStudy (slaaibak):

When values are roots, it means that (x-root1)(x-root2) = 0 Where (x-root1)(x-root2) = quadratic equation. When there is a leading coefficient a, the quadratic equation changes to: a(x-root1)(x-root2) = f(x) Now looking at this problem: f(x) = 2(x - (3 - sqrt2))(x - (3 + sqrt2)) Multiply that out to get the answer
