Assuming you're solving for y: \[\frac{9}{4} \times y = \frac{27}{4}\] You need to isolate for y. You can do this by dividing both sides by 9/4: \[\frac{9/4}{9/4} * y = \frac{27}{4}\] On the left side you get just y, on the right side you get a fraction divided by a fraction. So you need to invert the fraction(switch the top and bottom) and multiply top with top and bottom with bottom.

so its 3
