OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you want an explanation or just the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer preferably @ArkGoLucky

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first one is 495, but that's not an answer choice...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does the series start at 12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

second one is -134338567022

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it starts at 12.. i think we have to find the 15 terms first..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which answer choice is the second one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess the second one would be your second answer choice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you left out the exponent symbol. should be 10^11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.. they are exponents..sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in the first question, the first 15 terms are: {12+15+18+21+24+27+30+33+36+39+42+45+48+51+54}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you try adding them in a calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to add all of them to get the sum?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well no, there is a formula but if don't trust my answer (as my answer is not among the choices you gave me) you can try grinding out the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well its multiple choice so it has to be one of them.. are you sure you are reading the question correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well all I'm getting is that it wants me to add the first 15 terms. that's what I did. try adding all the terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think @mathstudent55 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the original question is "Which of the following is the sum of the first 15 terms of the series made from the sequence 3, 6, 9,...."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had to Find the next three terms of 3, 6, 9,....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and thats how i got 12, 15, 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that changes everything. then the start if the series is not 12, its 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer's 360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so which one is number 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for the help! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome
