A force sensor is placed on a table top upside down, as show in the attached picture. After zeroing the force sensor, you will place one of the magnets on the sensor. The sensor will read a particular number. What is this number telling you about the magnet?

I think that the number tells you the amount of force(gravity) that is being exerted on the magnet by the earth. Is this correct?

That is my guess. If you divide the force (in Newtons) by 9.8 you should get the weight of the magnet in kg.

of course, if there are magnets or magnetically attractive metals in the meter, I think things go awry
