A polynomial is a monomial or the sum or difference of monomials. Each monomial is called a term of the poynomial
i know .
@zordoloom
so are you asking for the answer? or why that is the answer marked in the picture?
im asking for the correct answer because i got this wrong and i wanna know which i got wrong.
I think it's all of them except for D
yeah, i think D is the only one that isn't because it has a negative exponent in it
B
A polynomial is a sum of terms. Each term of a polynomial can only contain a number (called coefficient) and zero or more variables raised to a natural number (1, 2, 3, ...). If you have a variable as an exponent, or a variable raised to a negative exponenet, or a fractional exponent, that is not a polynomial.
b isnt one?
@skullpatrol
so A wouldn't be one either according to mathstudent's definition
Ya, I don't think is a polynomial either.
B & F are both polynomials @Katieann16
actually E wouldn't be one either since it has x^4 in the denominator
A has a variable as an exponent. C has a fractional exponent D & E have variables in the denominator
so its just B&F
pretty sure mathstudent just nailed it
Correct.
Correct, only B and F
thank you all(:

To get this question right you have to understand the definition of a monomial.
