Choose the procedure you would use to solve the equation 4x − 7 = 29 for x. Add seven to both sides, and then multiply both sides by four. Divide both sides by four, and then subtract seven from both sides. Add seven to both sides, and then divide both sides by four. Multiply both sides by four, and then add seven to both sides.

Which ones do you think you can eliminate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The second one, and fourth one

OpenStudy (kainui):

Ok good, so then after you add 7 to both sides you get: 4x=36 Show me what would the equation look like if you multiplied both sides by 4 and divided both sides by 4 now. =D
